Horsfield?

Last updated : 22 March 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Reading tonight's Evening Mail there is a article about Geoff Horsfield. After only 1 start and 2 substitute appearances at Sheffield United he has been told by Warnock that he isn't allowed anywhere near the club and he has to train at home.

Horsfield has said he has absolutely no idea what has caused this fall out and that Warnock wanted him in the January transfer window now he doesnt!!

West Brom have insisted that there is no chance of a return because they have a binding agreement with Sheffield United over a £1.25 million transfer in the summer.

Horsfield said 'I've got until tomorrow to get myself a club or I'm stuffed'. The transfer deadline is 5pm tomorrow.

The article shows that the 32 year old forward is desperate to get a club because he just wants to be playing first team football. I know Walsall cannot afford his wages but we are on the doorstep of his Midlands home, we would also offer him the chance to put himself in the shop window for next season.

Sheffield United might be prepared to pay most of his wages so Horsfield can impress enough to get himself a summer transfer which will enable them to recoup the transfer fee they will be forced to pay, not to mention getting him off the wage bill for good.

I know there will be other clubs interested - ones that will be alot more attractive than us but our location might be our trump card should we offer him an escape route from his Sheffield nightmare. Strikers are not readily available at the moment, so interest is sure to be imense.

We signed Joachim to save our season on deadline day last year can we produce a miricle and get the Horse!!? Feed the Horse and he will score!!
