Have we seen the last of Skora in a Walsall Shirt?

Eric Skora is to remain at Preston North End while he recovers from the injury he sustained in the warm up of the Oldham game. Despite recieving the knock Skora played the first half before being substituted in the half time interval. The injury meant he was unable to make a telling contribution in the game and looked a shadow of his usual self.

This news will come as a great blow to Walsall as he is expected to be out for around a month. When he recovers his loan deal at the club will have most likely become expired. This must mean that there is a possibility that we have seen Eric Skora in a Walsall shirt for the last time.

The player has been a revelation in his loan spell but again he has suffered an injury to the same leg he had cruciate ligament damage in last year. Despite rumours of a Skora plus money swop deal for Skora this must now be in doubt as surely Walsall will not want to swop their biggest asset for a injury prone player.

Merson has added himself to the squad for Saturday as a replacement for Skora but is unlikely to feature because of his lack of fitness as he is recovering from injury himslf. Kris Taylor, Daniel Fox and Simon Osborn are likely to fight it out for the midfield berths against Notts Forest.
