Allan Picken has become Walsall's latest signing as we prepare for our League Two assult.

Signed from Richard Money's former team Newcastle Jets, the 6"2 Centre Back will add strength and depth to our back line. He has put pen to paper on a two year deal and will be flying into the country on Tuesday morning.

With Chris Westwood and Ian Roper suspended for one and three games respectively it looks the safest of bets, Allan will make his debut at Rochdale on Saturday, partnering Anthony Gerrard. Although this is dependent on us recieving international clearance.

It also looks apparent the aussie has been purchased for AU$50,000 (approx £20,000). Providing Walsall with our first 'payed-for' signing since the mighty Jorge Leitao.

Previous clubs of Picken include Sydney United, Canterbury Olympic and APIA Leichardt. He was also close to joining Sunderland a couple of years ago.
