Chris Turner today promised fresh faces in his starting 11 after watching Hartlepool United's unbeaten away run end in controversial fashion.

Turner told 'The Sunderland Echo' he didn't think Pools' performance was up to scratch and vowed to make changes to his side for Saturday's home game with Walsall. The likes of Adam Boyd, Neil Austin and Ritchie Humphreys set to get a chance.

The director of sport said: "You learn a lot about your players after a game like that.

"I think a couple of heads went down after the second goal because they felt the world was against them.

"There'll be changes next Saturday I would think.

"I've got a good squad of players and I've got players who are wanting to be in the team and think they should be in the team.

"I think the players have had a good run in the team."
