Gerrards is starting to become unsettled?

After the game at Bournemouth Paul Merson praised Anthony Gerrard for his performance and he admitted to the Evening Mail that they had words after Gerrard found out he wasnt in the Starting XI.  Of course Staunton got injured in the warm up so he started but this is the first sign of the young Scoucer's discontent at not being in the starting line up.

Anthony turned down a few clubs to join us, where he enjoyed his loan spell at the back end of last season.  He was part of the defence that only conceeded 2 goals in 5 games, both of these were from the spot.  He started the season opener at Millmoor due to Westwoods suspension and then nothing has been seen of him since regards the first team.

He looked superb again yesterday and now Merson HAS to give him a run of a minimum of five games to show what he can do.  I am convinced that this will cement his place in the team. We were lucky with Stauntons injury yesterday and he should be no more than a bench player and not hinder the progress of our highly rated youngsters.
