After Stockport County's 1-0 home win over Walsall, manager Jim Gannon was 'bursting with pride' after beating the Saddlers and equalling a Football League record.

He told his clubs official website www.stockportcounty.co.uk:

"Words cannot express how I feel at the moment.

I'm absolutely bursting with pride not just for the players and everybody involved but also the fans.

It was a fantastic night tonight and I'm so proud to be a part of it.

I thought we got sucked in to playing at their tempo so I told the lads to settle down and pass the ball and in the second half they came out and had courage to get on the ball.

We had surges from Adam Griffin and Tes Bramble, fantastic attacking play, and it was a fantastic second half.

I can't speak highly enough of the players the way they've adapted and worked and progressed over the last six months, it's just beyond belief really."
