Fryatt signs contract extension

Walsall and Matty Fryatt have agreed a one-year extension to his present deal. This will see his contract run through to the end of the 2006-7 season. This ensures that Matty cannot leave in the summer for a tribunal decided fee, while it also means we are in the position to make sure that he leaves on our terms. The contract agreement has a clause saying that the club will not stand in his way if a higher divison club meets our valuation.

The management and board must be congratulated for sorting this out early so that the player can become settled again and we dont have a nervous wait to see will he, wont he.
