The majority of Lions fans wanted - and still want - promotion and anything less would be considered a failure. I personally couldn't see us bothering the play-offs with our current strike force so I guess my pre-season hope was for us to sign another striker.

2. What are your opinions on the Byfield situation, decision, time span, eventual ending?

The Byfield situation has been on-going since last Christmas, if truth be told. He wanted out after he was booed on his return from injury by a small - and it has to be said - rather stupid section of the crowd who weren't prepared to give him time to regain his match fitness. I guess we all knew he'd be off at some point but it came rather sooner than most expected and it was on the cards after the pre-season bust-up in Scotland between Byfield and another member of the squad. Apparently he wants to tell his side of the story, which should be interesting, but Millwall should've done more to keep him.

3. Has Byfield departure weakened you in any way or changed your hopes for the season?

It has severely weakened us - more than people realise. He was the only genuine goalscorer in the squad following Poul Hubertz equally controversial departure and results have proved that we have nothing up front.

4. Was it actually him posting on your fan sites or a wind up?

No idea. However the evidence seems to suggest that it was genuine!

5. What do you think of Walsall?

I have fond memories of Walsall, thanks to our victory in the Autowindscreen Shield semi-final all those years ago. We also beat you on the way to the FA Cup Final, but you've also given us a tonking down the years - both home and away - and the fixture has always been competitive. You have a tendency to be a thorn in our side in the League, less so in Cup competitions.

6. How do you think we will fair this season?

I thought you might challenge for a play-off spot but you seem to be having the same problem getting your season underway that we have.

7. Is there anyone in our squad you think - I'd like him in the Millwall squad?

Darren Wrack always plays well against us. He's getting on a bit now but could probably still do a job down the wing.

8. Leeds - what do you think about their 15 point deduction? Was it fair?

Of course it was fair. Sod 'em. And their crap, overrated short-arse of a manager.

9. How will they end up this season?

The same way as Leeds City if they're not careful.

10. Who should we look out for in the Millwall team?

I would have said Zak Whitbread, as he would've given you a penalty/goal/reduced us to ten men etc, but he's suspended. Man of the moment is Chris Hackett. He has a point to prove and may get the chance to prove it on Saturday.

11. Your match predictions?

Shouts of "Willie Out" echoing around the ground if things start off badly!
