Walsall overcame Tamworth 1-0 at the Lamb last night, bouncing back from their 3-0 trouncing at Chester on Saturday. Winger Daryl Taylor, 19 - a second half substitute - latched onto player/manager Paul Merson's through ball to slot
the winner after seventy minutes.

Walsall fielded an experienced side with only Mark Paston, Zigor Aranalde, Gary Birch and Iffy Onoura missing. They look set to feature against Moor Green tonight (730pm).

Meanwhile, former Saddler Gavin Caines has seen his trial at Cheltenham extended while Carlos Garrocho - a Portuguese winger who had a spell at Bescot under Colin Lee - is now on trial at Grimsby.
