Fox signs contract extension

Walsall today announced that popular left back Daniel Fox has signed a contract extension that will see him contracted to us until the end of the 2007/8 season. The left back who only joined in the summer has been rewarded for his impressive displays during his first few months of his Walsall career.

This is a pro-active move by Walsall who have secured the services of the left back for a further season, with Daniel Fox only being 19 his game will undoubtably improve further. He is enjoying his first regular experience of first team football and has already become a vital conponent in the teams defence.

Fox of course arrived soon after Anthony Gerrard, who played in the same reserves and youth side as Fox at Everton. With both players it can be seen they have been trained in a premiership academy, both players show tremendous leadership qualities and despite their young age they are not afraid to speak up on the field.  This is something Walsall missed at the back last season, even though Ian Roper and Neil Emblen both had bags of experience neither spoke up to organise the people around them.
