Ricketts began his career at The Saddlers in 1996 and after four years at The Bescot he moved on to Bolton Wanderers in 2000.

After a successful two-and-a-half year spell at The Reebock, during which time his goalscoring exploits earned him a full England cap, he moved to Middlebrough in January 2003 for £3.5million.

The Birmingham-born forward failed to secure a regular first team place at The Riverside and managed only 12 league starts during his 18 month spell spell at Boro.

Ricketts has today moved onto pastures new by signing a three-year deal with Coca Cola Championship side Leeds Utd.
