Nottingham Forest according to the Sunday Mercury are preparing to offer £500k and striker David Johnson in exchange for Walsall's teanage starlet Matty Fryatt. Walsall earlier this week rejected an offer believed to be £500,000 and are preparing themselves for a flurry of bids this week ahead of the transfer deadline.  Other clubs rumoured to be interested in securing Mattys services include Suderland, Wigan, Aston Villa and Wolves.  Paul Merson has put a £1 million price tag on Mattys head and with his contract coming to an end in the summer it is likely he will leave either in August or January.  As Fryatt is under 23 at the end of his contract if he was to leave we would still recieve a compensation payment but this will be decided by a tribunual and could be anything from £100k to £750k.
