Ex-striker joins Bury

Bury have clinched the signing of York City striker Andy Bishop. Bishop has agreed a two-year deal at Gigg Lane, joining on a Bosman.

Bishop, 23, had been offered a new contract at York after topping the Conference scoring charts this season with 22 goals. The striker turned down other clubs to sign for the League Two club. Walsall were rumoured to be interested in re-signing the striker that Colin Lee released when we were in the Championship.
Bishop will be playing at Bescot next season, but for Bury. The striker is a real coup for Bury, managed by Chris Casper (ex-Manchester United). They narrowly avoided the drop into the Conference this season and wasted no time in re-building for next season's campaign.
