Ex Nottingham Forest manager David Platt has missed out on the Walsall Manager's job. The position was given to Kevan Broadhurst.

The news will come as a huge blow to Platt who made no secret of his desire to secure the Bescot hot seat. The former Forest boss is desperately looking for a way back into football since his departure from the England Under 21's.

Platt had been spotted in disguise at Walsall while scouting us. The Ex-England star said that Walsall have alot of potential and he didnt mind working under the strict budget constraints.

Nottingham Forest fans blame David Platt for the demise of their club. Millions of pounds were wasted during his time in charge at the City Ground. As a result Nottingham Forest were relegated with huge debts. Ok Platt didnt spend money he wasnt authorised too, but he didnt spend the money wisely. Alot of the players brought in sunk without trace.

Platt was one of the front runners for the job but fell short.  He made no secret of his hopes to secure the appointment and used the media to talk himself up for the position.  Platt would have brought the Sky Sports News camers back to Walsall but Bonser has maybe learnt from the mistake he made last time round.
