It was announced this morning that Walsall have signed Paul Devlin until the end of the season. This transfer has been rumoured for a few weeks although it was believed that Devlin would sign a 18 month deal. However it seems Devlin wants to keep his options open and look to move back to the Championship in the summer. For him to do that his form for Walsall will earn him the move so he will join eager to impress.

Devlin joins Walsall as a result of him wishing to move back to the Birmingham area and will bring a wealth of experience to the Walsall's attacking options.

Devlin has been used mainly as a winger this season but it seems he will be playing up from t for us. He made 27 appearences for Watford this season and 76 appearences during his stay there, scoring six times. The player is most known by people in this area for his three spells at Birmingham City. In his first spell at Blues he was used as a striker and scored 36 goals in 86 games. A very good strike record in anyones book.

Devlin will make his debut away at Chesterfield on Saturday where Walsall will hope he will have another new striker to partner - possibly Lee Peacock?
