Devlin happy with life at Coles Lane

Last week in an interview with the Sutton Observer, Paul Devlin told the newspaper how happy he was at his new club Sutton Coldfield Town.

This season, the Royals have proved to be a team who can compete with any Southern Midlands team on their day, alothough their day hasn't come as often as it possibly should. The team are known to blow hot and cold as they struggle for consistancy. They currently sit mid-table with only an outside chance of the play-offs.

Devlin believes he has up to three years of football left in him and said it is likely he will stay with the club till the end of the season, possibly the season after that. He tells the Observer:

" I was at Tamworth but I just couldn't commit to the time they wanted me there. Sutton have been really good to me in that respect.

Personally I still think I can play on for two or three years because I am being careful about how I train. I'm managing to score a few goals at the moment and keeping fit.

When I first came here my target was to enjoy it and try to bring something to benefit the team. But, I've been a pro for 15 years so nI don't want to be in a team that's stuck in mid-table.

I don't want to go into coaching in the professional game because there is a lot of back-stabbing, but I can see myself doing something in non-league football."
