Kofi Dakinah, 24, is a Danish youth international and has been with FC Copenhagen, Skjold and more recently Herfoelge. He is on trial at Bescot for ten days as a result of Jeff Bonser’s friendship with former Herfoelge chairman Frank Stapleton.

"Kofi has looked quite good in training so far and I'll have a look at him in one of the games next week," Merson said. “He'll probably come on as a substitute at Chester next Saturday and then play the full 90 minutes at Tamworth next Tuesday. It is an area of the squad where we are light although Julian Bennett has been outstanding in training, which is good news. Kofi will spend 10 days with us and we've also got a couple of lads over from Holland just to have a look at."

Merse is also reported to be keen on Villa striker Luke Moore, younger brother of Stefan, who spent time on loan at Wycombe last season.
