Walsall have confirmed that striker Troy Deeney has submitted a written transfer request. The 22-year-old, who was the Saddlers top scorer last season with 14 goals, has been the subject of a number of failed bids from Championship side Watford this summer with the latest offer believed to be in the region of £375,000. A statement on Walsall's official website read: "Walsall Football club can today confirm that a written transfer request has been submitted by the representatives of Troy Deeney. "This is currently being considered by manager, Chris Hutchings. "The club will be making no further comment at this stage."
