Crewe Alexandra's official website www.crewealex.co.uk is saying Walsall could be interested in taking striker Lee Matthews on loan.
Matthews, has made nine substitute appearances for Crewe this season and is available for loan after struggling to displace Luke Varney and Michael Higdon from the first-team squad.
After enduring a miserable time with injuries over the last few years and currently short of match practice, the former Leeds, Port Vale and Bristol City striker is keen to get some regular football under his belt. Matthews is out-of-contract in the summer and is hoping a loan spell away from Crewe will spark offers for his services.
