Colin Lee moves up stairs

Ex-Walsall boss Colin Lee has moved up stairs to take a Director of Football position at Millwall. David Tuttle has taken over as the manager of the lions in a caretaker capacity untill the end of the season, becoming Millwalls fourth manager in a year. Lee appointed Turtle as his assistant earlier this season when he took over at the club when they were rock bottom. Lee origionally joined Millwall as Steve Claridge's assistant but quickly replaced him at the helm. This is now Lee's third role at the club this season.

The powers that be at the club have decided to move Lee up stairs so he can concentrate on attracting players to the club and improving the clubs infrastructure. He will continue to have a say in playing affairs but ultimately Tuttle will be making the final decisions. The appointment of Tuttle though comes as a surprise because he is only 33 years old, therefore he replaces Watford manager Adam Boothroyd as the youngest manager in the Championship. The club see this as a long term success strategy. But with Tuttle only being caretaker manager this does not show full commitment!

It was rumoured during his time at Walsall that Lee would become Director of football but the move never materialised, he was sacked in April 2003 after a terrible run of form took us from a good mid-table position to heart breaking relegation arbeit the last 4 games of that season was not under Lee's guidance.
