The Football League have fined Scunthorpe United and Hartlepool United for failing to comply with the rules of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy relating to clubs fielding full available strength teams in matches.

Scunthorpe United have been fined £4,500, of which £1,500 will be suspended for a year; while Hartlepool United recieved a £1,500 fine, with the full amount being suspended for a year.

Clubs competing in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clubs are required to field at least six of the eleven first team players that have appeared in most matches this season, to date. Both clubs failed to comply with Hartlepool fielding just five players and Scunthorpe three. However both sides can feel unlucky because Scunthorpe beat Bradford 2-1, and Hartlepool beat Rotherham 3-1.
