Westwood, it is thought, is keen on a move to the Midlands and Bosner has revealed that Saddlers boss Paul Merson would like to add him to his squad at The Bescot.
"Chris Westwood is at the end of his contract at Hartlepool and if there was a chance of signing him, he is definitely one we would go for," Bonser told the Express & Star newspaper.
"I believe he has been offered terms at Hartlepool, but he hasn't agreed anything yet and from what we can gather, he wants to come back to the area and we can offer him that chance.
"(Manager) Paul Merson is keen to bring in a defender with plenty of experience.
"Chris Westwood is the player he would like to bring to the club, and if that doesn't happen, we would certainly be looking for another defender with lots of experience."
