Calderwood on Saddlers target

New Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood has been speaking on Forest's official website about Saddlers target Andy Morrell. Richard Money has already spoken of his desire to sign the striker who has attracted interest from teams much higher up the ladder than Walsall FC.

Calderwood said "He has scored goals in the division below us and has done well at a Championship level, even though he was played a bit out of position.

"We've had excellent reports about him as a person, a boy in the dressing room, a worker and a footballer."

It was revealed that Calderwood had set up a deal to take him to his former club Northampton Town before that deal fell through when Calderwood moved to Forest. The Forest manager confirmed he is still interested in signing the striker but he intends to give the men already at his disposal at The City Ground the chance to show him what they are capable of; before any move can be made.

So it seems any move could be a month or so away which in the meantime could give another team the chance to 'sell their club' to the recently released Coventry striker.
