Byfield left Oldham this week having been on a short term contract and has signed to the end of January and has the option of extending that for the rest of the season.
Walsall's forward line has needed to be strengthened, we have needed players not afraid to take a shot to nothing and now Byfield is the man to do this, starting tomorrow verses his former club Gillingham.
