Walsall today announced that Joe Broads contract has been 'mutually terminated'. Having signed in August 2004 Joe Broad never really broke into the first team.

For a 23 year old he really should be getting more first team experience than this. The player was signed after impressing in a pre-season friendly against Aston Villa.

During his spell with Walsall he had a loan spell with Reddich United from which he was recalled from because of the midfield injury crisis at Bescot.

Joe could never be critisied for a lack of effort, no one at the club has ever said anything bad about the player. Infact quite the opposite. Paul Merson said he was the ultimate pro. But unfortunately if the talent isn't there at this stage of his career then there is not alot you can do.

I would expect Joe to look for a lower/non league club now where he can get regular first team football under his belt. If he plays regularly then he might start to attract interest other clubs. Its a make or break move for him once he finds himself a new club because there is a real danger of his career stagnating.

Telford were linked with a loan deal for him earlier in the season and i would expect Reddich to be interested too.
