Boertien injury blow for Walsall

Walsall today suffered a big injury blow as new signing Paul Boertien was ruled out for several weeks after suffering knee ligament damage in training.

The Saddlers full-back, who has been acclaimed as one of Richard Money's best signings for the club, is said to have suffered damage to his medial knee ligaments, and has been immediately ruled out of tomorrow's game with Oldham Athletic.

Boertien will need to have a scan in the next few days as doctors assess the injury. It is not yet known when he will be able to return to action.
