'Adopted Team' in local derby FA Cup qualifier

Last updated : 31 August 2007 By Andy Van Hagen
As preveiously revealed this season Walsall MAD is going to follow the progress of a local non-league club all the way until none are left. We will start with Boldmere St. Michaels who provided our first pre-season freindly opposition for the 2007/8 season.

Having dispatched of Ledbury Town 6-2 away from home in the previous round, Walsall MAD's 'adopted' FA Cup qualifing side Boldmere St. Michaels travel to Rushall Olympic on Saturday for their FA Cup First Round Qualifier.

Rushall are from the division higher than Boldmere but have started the season in mixed fashion. Both home fixtures have been won with wins over Barton Rovers and Leamington (Last season's Midland Football Alliance Champions). On their travels Rushall have fallen to defeats by Chasetown and Romulus at the weekend.

Boldmere have played 6, Won 2, Drawn 3 and lost 1 this season but the visit to a team from the division above with a 100% home record could prove tricky.

The game is a 3pm Kick-off and for those who are not making the long Walsall journey to Gillingham I'm sure would be made very welcome at Dales Lane.
