A Rotherham fans View

Good time to play you?

There could never be a better time to play Rotherham as we are a side in complete disarray. We haven't won in 14 games, have slipped from a play off place to a relegation spot and have been knocked out of all three cup competitions, two of which to teams currently residing in the bottom four of the entire league.

..At least you got knocked out by a league team!!

Furthermore, our rookie manager is showing a tendency to pick daft teams and silly tactics and has the inability to remove his hands from his pockets!

...Now which other clubs fans could say that!!!?

Your fans dont seem happy at the moment, you started the season well?

One of the major problems for the fans was the great start we had raised expectations. Initially most people were looking at teams like yourself as a marker of what we could expect this season but a couple of good wins boosted our hopes and as a result the current run has left fans up in arms, when in fact it may have been what we should have expected anyway. Now we'll be happy just to stay up and win a game!!

Sounds like the views of a Walsall fan at the end of last season!! Theres alot of similarities between Walsall last season and yourselves this season. New managers after relegation, high expectations and poor results after a good start

Over recent years, the only teams that have gone straight back up to the Championship following relegation have been Crewe and Brighton. Stockport and Grimsby have been relegated again and teams like yourselves, Wednesday and Barnsley have all struggled at first. We should have expected a season of struggle I think but the fact we started so well (apart from an opening day defeat) has shown we can compete and play well in this league and as a result makes it especially hard to take a 14 match winless run.

Any of your players in form at the moment?

We don't have a 'form' player as such. I suppose you should look out for Deon Burton as he is our leading scorer and you will need no introduction to Martin Butler, who on his last visit to Walsall tried his very best to keep you up by missing a shed load of sitters. Now if you want me to compile a list
of 'out of form' players then I'd be better off sending you the whole sqaud list. However, our young centre back, Shaun Barker is havng a cracking season and is only undone by the fact he has three clowns playing along side him.

many thanks to the team at www.RotherhamUnited.co.uk
