Tommy Wright secures another move away from Oakwell

Tommy Wright has left Barnsley but not to join Rotherham United as expected, instead he signed for Darlington on loan.

Rotherham had agreed what was described as a nominal fee with Barnsley on Monday and it is understood the Millers had even printed a shirt for him.

However, the deal never went through. The Millers official website states that the club will not jeopodise the future of the club for the sake of meeting agents demands.

Dave Penney then stepped in to sign the forward on a month loan deal. He also managed to get the deal through in time to ensure Wright would be registered for his side's League Two encounter at Bury. He was rewarded by his new signing scoring an 87th minute equaliser for the Quakers.
