Staunton makes first signings for Darlo

Last updated : 09 October 2009 By Andy Van Hagen
New Darlington Manager Steve Staunton has wasted no time in recruiting new blood to help Darlington's survival battle.

He has made his first two signings and went for a mixture of experience and youth. In come Noel Whelan and Robbie Threlfall.

Whelan needs no introduction, however you may have wondered if the ex-Leeds and Middlesborough forward was still in the game. He was unattached, having spent last season with Harrogate following his return from Scottish football
