Standing's Chesterfield move hits snag

Michael Standing's signing for Chesterfield has hit a snag. Standing was about to sign a one month contract for the League One side before the FA pointed out that the player could be disadvantaged if released at the end of the month.

Under transfer window rules it would mean that Standing could not sign for another club until the January transfer window re-opens.

The Ex-Walsall midfielder has been given 24 hours to make his mind up. He has two options, one to sign and risk being released in a months time and therefore being unable to play for another club until January; or look for another club to offer him a contract to the end of December. Of course if his initial one month stay is successful, there is nothing stopping him signing a contract extension for December and beyond.
