Southern ex-Saddler moving up, and along the coast?

Last updated : 09 September 2007 By Andy Van Hagen
Sunday's News of the World reports Portsmouth are plotting a New Year raid for Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman.

Surman played under Harry Redkapp at St.Mary's and it was him who loaned the Saints man to Walsall under Merson's era.

Surman born in South Africa has now made 59 appearances for Spouthampton and his increasing influence and consistancy is attracting Premiership clubs.

The ex-Saddler is very settled on the south coast and would prefur to stay local making Portsmouth an obvious switch.
