Ex-Saddler Alfie Cater has joined Worcester City of the Blue Square South on non-contract terms.

Following his release by Welsh Premier side The New Saints at the end of last season, Carter went to America where he was doing some coaching.

Having started his career at Walsall where he made three Football League appearances ,Carter moved to Bromsgrove Rovers in October 2000. He has since played for Newport County, Stafford Rangers and AFC Telford Utd before joining TNS, where he won Welsh Title's, sampled European football qualifiers and topped the scoring charts. His spell at the clubwas blighted with injury but remained a popular player because of his scoring record. A few season's back he was a target of Oldham Athletic in League One, such was his success.

At Worcester he will link up with another former Walsall forward, Martin Butler.
