Scottish Premier League Trial for Zaaboub

Sofiane Zaaboub who left Walsall after not signing a new contract and wanting to take up an offer of a trial at another club yesterday played for Hamilton Academical's.

The Scottish Premier outfit will have money to spend after accepting two offers for their 18 year old star asset James McCarthy, believed to be £2 million.

Accies reached the final of the Ronnie Swan Spartans Tournament after a 2-2 draw with Raith Rovers, then winning 4-1 on penalties in the first ever match at the new Ainslie Park community stadium in Edinburgh. The second semi final, between hosts Spartans and top English conference side Blyth Spartans, also finished 2-2, with the Edinburgh side winning 4-3 on penalties. Accies will now meet Spartans in the final at 3.15pm on Sunday.

In the 2-2 draw Zaaboub played his half at left back, a position he did say he could fulfill when joining the Saddlers. With another game this afternoon he will no doubt be hoping for a chance to impress in his more natural left wing slot.

Hamilton fielded eight trialists against Raith so there is plenty of competition for Zaaboub to win a contract at the side hoping to improve on their 9th place finish last term:
