Roper makes debut

Last updated : 10 August 2008 By Andy Van Hagen
Ian Roper made his debut for new club Luton Town on Saturday in their 3-1 home defeat by Port Vale.

Luton, docked 30 points by the Football League probably need an '80' point season if they are to avoid relegation from League Two.

His new defensive partner will be Asa Hall, who had being linked with the Saddlers, did not get an offer to back the link up. The pair are two of 11 signings who commited themselves to the Luton fightback just two days before the season kick-off.

I think all Walsall fans will watch Roper's progress and wish him and his new club well. Roper played 13 seasons at Walsall and made over 300 appearances, playing a big part in our Championship Chapters.
