Daryl made a fairy-tale start to first team football, he scored in each of his first three games. Goals against Port Vale, Oldham and Bournemouth gave him the dream start to life in League One which imediately resulted in hight expectations. Since then Daryl has failed to score a single goal and has had two impressive loan spells with Hereford at the tail end of the last two seasons.
Daryl missed the beggining of the season past through injury which he sustained last season while on loan with Hereford United. His return coincided with the beginning of the downturn of results. Subsequently the player was not given time to re-adjust to first team football and became the object that fans frustrations were aimed at.
The move to the south coast is a fresh start for a player with bags of potential. the player will always be remembered by the travelling support who saw his fine goal in the 5-3 defeat at Oldham Athletic.
