Talking to the club's official website, Mills has this to say:

"I am happy to be here at Rotherham United as it's a fresh start for me and a fresh start for the club as well. Hopefully the only way for the club now is forward.

"I know quite a lot about this division as I played in it for MK Dons and Walsall last season so it won't be unusual for me. The minus ten points start hasn't put me off at all as I have been training with the lads for a couple of days now and I can see we have a good squad.

The average age has come down quite a lot as we seem to have a number of young players now so the only way for the club is forward.

I don't consider that I have just one personal strength, I like to think I am a good leader and I like to win games, I am pretty passionate about winning. My main position is the centre of defence although I have also played in centre midfield.

I try to get the odd goal here and there and hopefully my first match action for my new club will be on Saturday at Grantham. But I can't wait for the start of the season, I just want to get started for Rotherham United."
