O'Connor the manager

Former Walsall legend Martin O'Connor has made his first steps into management by becoming Halesowen Town's manager.

Now 39, O Connor rose from non-league football to play for Championship high flyers Birmingham City in his career that spanned eight clubs.

His previous clubs are:
Bloxwich,
Bromsgrove Rovers (1991 91 apps 11 goals),
Crystal Palace (1992 4 apps),
Walsall (3 spells – 1993 12 apps 2 goals, 1994 113 apps 26 goals & 2002 53 apps 2 goals),
Peterborough Utd (24 apps 3 goals),
Birmingham City (1996 223 apps 19 goals)
Shrewsbury Town (2003 65 apps 2 goals)
Kidderminster Harriers (2005 14 apps)

Halesowen of the Southern Premier Division are currently placed 16th out of 22 teams. His assistant manager will be Ex-Birmingham City midfielder Graham Hyde.
