Oakes offered contract (updated)

Last updated : 22 July 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
League One promotion hopefuls Swansea City, have offered recently released Walsall keeper Andy Oakes a one year contract, after a successful week long trial.

If Oakes signs the deal it is likely he will start the season as back-up to Swansea number 1 Willie Gueret.

Oakes left Bolton in March 2005 to join Walsall, giving the reason he wanted first team football.  After spending the majority of his career as back up he decided to take a wage cut in favour of regular first team football.
