Matty Fryatt on Premiership Club's 'Wanted List'

Last updated : 25 August 2009 By Andy Van Hagen

'The Mirror' are reporting Phil Brown is ready to turn to Matty Fryatt in a last-gasp bid to solve Hull's striker problem.

They state Brown is lining up a £4 million swoop for the ex-Walsall striker, who scored 32 goals in League One for the Foxes last season. He is Leicester's leading goal scorer this season with 3 in 6 games and has a record of 4 England U19 goals in 6 appearances.

Hull have been rejected by 7 strikers this summer in Michael Owen, Fraizer Campbell, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Bobby Zamora, Marlon Harewood, Daryl Murphy and Real Madrid's Alvaro Negredo.

They have however managed to recruit United States international striker Jozy Altidore, 19, on a season-long loan deal from La Liga outfit Villarreal.  He really impressed at the weekend but now Brown feels he needs a strike partner to fire the goals they have been badly missing since Christmas.

If the deal did go through and Leicester found £4 million just too much to refuse Walsall will be entitled to a sell on percentage following his 2006 signiture.

Back in January 06 it was believed Fryatt would not move from the local area. Now establishing himself as a Championship striker, would he make a move to make the Premiership step up?
