Loaned in Saddler set to join former team mate?

Last updated : 13 June 2009 By Andy Van Hagen

Paul Peschisolido is attempting to ty-up a deal to bring 20-year-old Birmingham City prospect Robin Shroot to Burton Albion. It is his hope to initially sign the player (who was on-loan at Walsall last season) on a three-month deal with a view to extending that if the move goes well.

Shroot, plucked from Ryman League Harrow Borough by Birmingham last season, has played only an FA Cup tie for the Blues' first team so far but, although London-born, already has caps for Northern Ireland at Under-21 level, qualifying through his grandmother.

He can play in any attacking roles but is usually seen as a right-winger. In his loan spell at the Saddlers he saw his gametime limited to off-the-bench appearances before leaving after being unhappy not to earn a start at the club. Walsall manager instead opted to give Alex Nicholls the chance to prove his worth on the right handside
