Lichfield City Football Club (formerly known as Beacon Park F.C. until June 2006) have signed former Saddler Paul Jones.

He has signed as a player following being Assistant Manager in Charlie Blakemore's coaching staff at Chasetown. Although his main focus will be playing, he will be helping out behind the scenes.

Jones's day job is a postie in Rugeley and was part of Chasetown's famous FA Cup run where they were eventually knocked out by Cardiff City.

At Walsall Jones scored 15 goals in 143 games before joining Wolves in 1989. He left Wolves for non-league Kettering in 1991 before spells at Stafford Rangers, Hednesford Town, Moor Green, Bilston, Blakenall, Atherstone United, Paget Rangers and Pelsall Villa.
