Walsall LEGEND Jimmy Walker has signed for Tottenham Hotspur!!

Having left West Ham over the summer after the expiry of his contract, 'Wacka' was linked to joining Derby County but in a surprise move he has put pen to paper at White Hart Lane where he will compete for a jersey alongside Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini!! This week 'Harry' was linked with a move for David James but after the transfer deadline passed, turned his attentions to Jim, with Gomez currently struggling with injury ahead of the Manchester United game.

Spurs have maximum points this season and sit just behind Chelsea, in second place on goal difference:

Walker left Walsall for West Ham in the Summer of 2004 after 10 years service at Bescot and instantly became a big favourite with his new club after saving former 'Hammer' 'Fat Frank' Lampards penalty in a League Cup Clash at Stamford Bridge in his third game for the club.

After beating off competition from Stephen Bywater and Shakka Hislop, he established himself as no.1. The Championship Play-off final victory should have been his career highlight to date, but serious knee injury struck when the 'Hammers' were Premiership bound.

'Wacka' still managed to get onto the Millenium Stadium pitch after being helped by two team-mates one on each shoulder proping him up.

In March 06 his return from injury was complete when Jimmy started against Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth in a Premiership fixture. They lost the game 4-2. In his next Premier League fixture 'Super Jim' kept a clean sheet at home to Man City and his final game in the Premier League was against Liverpool, a 2-1 defeat.

Walker won a FA Cup Runner's up medal with West Ham, being an unused substitute, in a game regarded as one of, if not the greatest FA Cup final of all time. However he found it hard to get first team football after West Ham signing a string of keepers in his injury abscene including internationals Roy Carroll and Rob Green. Despite his lack of first team games Walker always remained a fans favourite. Highlighted in this you tube clip from West Ham's Uefa Cup trip to Palermo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWfpGrKN_Ag

Last season Walker spent 3 months on loan at Colchester United in League One, which enabled his return to Walsall in a competitive fixture. The place where he won 3 promotions, 2 player of the year awards and made 476 appearances.
