Shrewsbury Town held a press conference to announce the appointment of Paul Simpson as their new manager.

The former Carlisle and Preston boss takes over from Gary Peters, who left the club last week. He has agreed a three-year contract and said he wants to build a team that matches the stadium they play in.

Simpson was loaned by Ray Graydon in the 1999/2000 season.
