Former Under 21 boss looking at Fryatt

This Sunday's 'The People' reports Peter Taylor is considering placing an offer for Matty Fryatt. Our former striker is out-of-favour at The Walkers Stadium and the Crystal Palace manager is lining up a bid.

It is thought Fryatt would be available at a cut-price deal. As part of the transfer which took Matty to Leicester it is believed Walsall will get a sell-on percentage. If Fryatt is sold on the cheap, our cut will obviously be less than what could have been expected.

Alternatively, Fryatt could be loaned out to boost his market value. the newspaper suggests Crystal palace would still be interested in this type of move.

The stumbling block could be the future of The Foxes manager Martin Allen. Having only been in the job for three months, a number of Sunday newspapers his time could already be up. After weekly rows with Milan Mandaric a short list is being drawn up to replace him. The 'News of the World even suggest Allen could be gone by midweek. Top of the likely candidates is apparently Paul Jewell.

With the transfer window closing at 00.00 September 1st, Fryatt could be in for an interesting week and Walsall could see our transfer budget being boosted.
