Ex-Saddler to become Preston Boss! NOT DAVID KELLY!!

Sky Sports News are reporting that Carlisle's Paul Simpson is set to be named the new manager of Preston North End. They report that Simpson has agreed terms on a three-year contract and will be officially named on Monday morning.

Simpson will succeed Billy Davies, who exchanged Deepdale for Derby's Pride Park earlier this month.

David Kelly was the Assistant Manager at Preston and had been tipped to become the Manager. It remains unclear if he will remain at the club, or if Simpson will bring his own back-room staff to the club.  One option open is Ned may follow Billy Davies to Derby. Davies was quoted recently saying that Kelly was like his right arm and he wishes he would be his No.2 for the rest of his managerial career; but he thought Kelly would be tempted by a managers position of his own.
