Hull were said to be interested in Matty back in August when they were looking for a striker to keep them in the Premiership but now another North East club, Sunderland are said to be montitoring his situation closely. Manager Steve Bruce knows Fryatt well from when he was in charge at Birmingham City, just the shortest of drives along the M6 away.

One thing is for sure, the more goals Fryatt continues to score, the more Premiership managers will be alerted to him.
