It has been announced that following meetings at the Moss Rose, Keith Alexander has been installed as the new manager of Macclesfield Town.

Ex-Saddler Ian Brightwell has been relieved of his managerial duties and has left the club with immediate effect. He was appointed to the role last summer following the departure of Paul Ince to Milton Keynes and despite a promising start, Macclesfield have slipped towards the bottom of the table in recent weeks.

Ian was offered the chance to stay at the club's number 2 but declined.
