Ian McPartlandIpswich manager Roy Keane has added Ian McPartland a role in his backroom staff.  The former Saddler had been out of work following his departure from Notts County last month, where he had been manager for two years.

Peter Taylor had been heavily linked with the vacant coach addition at Portman Road but Keane turned to 'Charlie'.

Keane said after appointing McPartland:

“I met Charlie first when I was on my Pro Licence and he’s a good man, which is important. He’s got his qualifications like a lot of coaches and I was keen on bringing a new face and new voice into the training ground.

“He’s somebody I believe I can trust and he’ll be working with the first team, very much hands on, and will be involved for the weekend.”
