Ex-keeper trains with Manchester United

Last updated : 14 October 2009 By Andy Van Hagen

With Peterborough United being in-between goalkeeping coaches following the departure of Andy Dibble and prior to the arrival of Darren Ward; Ex-Walsall keeper James McKeown and Joe Lewis spent the first week of the international break training with Manchester United.

Facing shots from Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, learning off Edwin van der Sar, it was a step up in quality for young McKeown, who had his first taste of Championship football on 3rd October after replacing Joe Lewis after he had suffered concussion.

Nottingham Forest put two past him that day, one's he could have done better with, but he'll dust himself down and look back on the first two weeks in October as great experiences to learn from.
